Southeasterly breeze prevails in summer and northwesterly wind blows in winter, the maximum wind velocity is 33.5M/S. The sunshine averages 2673.3 hours a year and frost-free period over 250 days. The landform of Zhifu District takes on hilly land that covers 69.8% of its whole area and the low-lying land makes up the rest 30.2%. The hilly lands mostly lie at the middle area, the highest peak is 397m above the sea level. Five main rivers run across its domain such as Dagu Jia River, Heng River, Qin River. In the north stretches 41.7km coastline and 18 isles in the north face the city across the sea. There are 3 large natural bays along the seaside with vast waters, boasting ideal fishing base. Surrounded by hills on the three sides and the sea on the other side, the District enjoys a perfect tourist and summer resort, with picturesque hills, attractive coastal scenery and numerous historical sites dotted about here and there.
