Yantai big cherries are called northern ˇ°Earliest Spring Fruitˇ±. The cherries growing here mature early and taste very good. They are heart-shaped, juicy and thin skin. Some are delicate and sweet, some are soft, juicy, both sweet and sour. The popular species include Zaozi (Early Purple), Xiaozi (Light Purple), Dazi (Dark Purple), Shuijing (Crystal), Naweng, Jixin (Chicken Heart), Qiujixin (Autumnal Chicken Heart), Bolipao (Glass Bulb), Maosuan, etc. There are three sorts in color, red, yellow, purple and two series, delicate meat and soft meat.
